Counselling and Supervision in Clapham SW4 and SW11, South West London
Welcome to my website.
My name is Helen Donovan and I am an accredited MBACP counsellor.
As you have come across my website you may be feeling like you need some extra support in your life right now.
I see a wide range of clients who are seeking help for a number of reasons. It can be very daunting reaching out and asking for help; you may even feel like hesitating or not contacting anyone even though you are making these initial steps. This is totally normal but it can be very beneficial to have a space to talk about what is troubling you, away from your every day life.
You might be coping with difficulties from your past that are having an impact on your present life, a sudden bereavement or a bout of anxiety or depression. You may be going through a transitional period where change feels overwhelming or you may not know what is troubling you but you know you don’t feel able to cope on your own. Whatever the situation you are in, taking the time to think about your feelings and why you are feeling the way you do can be helpful for you to move forward.
I can offer you a safe, non-judgmental space where you can discuss what is on your mind and where, hopefully, you will gain strength, support and insight.
I have had experience of working with a wide range of clients over the past 12 years and offer both long and short-term counselling for adults.
I have extensive experience working long-term with clients who have experienced developmental trauma either through sexual, emotional or physical abuse.
I currently see clients at my practice in Clapham Old Town SW4 and in Clapham Junction SW11.
The nearest tube in SW4 is Clapham Common on the Northern line which is only a couple of minutes walk away. The area is also serviced by a number of bus routes which also link up with Clapham Junction National Rail station, which is 10 minutes away by bus. My SW11 practice is a short walk from Clapham Junction Rail Station.
I hope you can find all the information you need on this website that explains more about the counselling process to you. We can discuss anything further on the phone or via e-mail.
"We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with true understanding and true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know." - Carl Rogers.
